StoryFest 2025
Open Mics

2:30 - 3:30 pm - Rehearsal Space

Youth Open Mic

HOST: Brotha Asè

Kids and young teens are invited to share a story. It can be a familiar fairy tale, or a true story about something that happened to you, or an original story you made up. This is NOT a slam; there are no winners or losers. Please, no stories longer than 5 to 8 minutes, so everyone can have a turn. If you’re not eager to get up and tell, please come to listen. Storytellers need an audience!

4:00 - 5:00 pm - Black Box Theater

Open Mic

HOST: Leif Wallin
MUSIC: Sufian Zhemukhov

If you’ve been inspired by the day’s workshops and performances, here’s a chance to get behind the mic and tell a story yourself. Please sign up in advance at the StoryFest Welcome Desk. Spots are first come, first served.

RULES:
- This is not a slam (no scoring or ranking, no winners or losers).
- Keep your story to 6-7 minutes or less.

- Various performance styles are welcome: spoken, sung, rhymed, interactive…
- Please respect and identify, if you can, the source of your story.
- Telling without notes is encouraged, but if you need to read your story or refer to notes, that’s okay.
