ST. PAUL: Off-Kilter Community Meeting

  • State Services for the Blind 2200 University Ave W # 240 St. Paul, MN 55114 (map)

Off-Kilter, the new Twin Cities cabaret project centered around artists with disabilities (created under the umbrella of Off-Leash Area: Contemporary Performance Works (https://www.facebook.com/offleash.area)  is holding four community meetings between March 3rd and March 11th to meet, socialize with, and hear directly from individuals with disabilities, their advocates and allies!

The meetings hope to discuss topics like...
Do you feel included in or excluded from live art? Do you feel seen and valued? What changes would you like to see at the intersection of disability justice and the performing arts? How would you like to see your community represented onstage, on screen, on gallery walls? As an artist or an audience member, what would make participating in the arts scene easier, more accessible, more inclusive?

Please, if you're an artist with a visible or invisible disability (physical, mental, psychological, behavioral, etc), or an ally or advocate, come to a meeting and give us feedback that'll help us develop our program further and broaden its impact. Refreshments will be provided! Anyone is also welcome to attend virtually, via Zoom -- every meeting will have this option (though you'll have to provide your own refreshments in that case).
