Internationally-revered storyteller Dovie Thomason "beams down" for a stellar night reflecting on traditional star stories from her father, growing up during the first “Space Race,” falling in love with Forbidden Planet, robots and sci-fi, working with NASA, and the vital place for “Indigenous Science” (also called Indigenous Knowledge Systems) and storytelling in relation to science and technology. Hosted by Kevin Kling.
Linger for an 'after-glow' Q&A with Dovie, Kevin, and special guests following each performance. A reception will follow this opening night show with refreshments prepared with recipes from The Sioux Chef's Indigenous Kitchen.
“In the past twenty years, I have been braiding original stories shaped by our oral tradition, unspoken stories, erased histories, and imagined futures in hopes of using storytelling as it’s always been used—to show us ways of Being and being together in good relation on this great, spinning star we call Mother.” – Dovie Thomason
