Humor in a story balances out pain, reveals the narrator's vulnerability, and builds an emotional connection. If humor is such a vital tool, why can it feel so difficult to create, especially within a story that's serious, dramatic or sad? This interactive class analyzes the roots of humor, and takes students through writing exercises they can utilize to "find the funny" in their stories and themselves. Taught by local writer, actor, and storyteller, Amy Salloway.
