ST. PAUL: Festival of Nations (not open to public)

Story Arts of Minnesota is providing live storytelling at the heart of the Festival’s Marketplace Bazaar. A diverse group of tellers will share tales from their own or their ancestors’ homelands.

Events on Thursday, May 2, and Friday, May 3, are open only to groups of students and teachers. The Festival opens to the public at 3:00pm on Friday. The public is invited to all storytelling shows on Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5.

Schedule for Thursday, May 2

10:00-10:30 am  Margaret Meyers tells bilingual stories of fools, wise ones, and tricksters to carry on her Mexican heritage. She earned her master’s degree in storytelling from East Tennessee State University and has delighted audiences of all ages for twenty years.

11:00-11:30 am  Kathleen Johnson will visit the rocky shores of northern Scotland and the lush green fields of England and Ireland during the magical time of “not so very long ago.” Her stories are traditional tales infused with original music.  www.kathleen-johnson.com
