Not-So-Silent Planet - "Family Tension"

  • Kieran's Irish Pub 85 Sixth St. N. Minneapolis, MN 55403 (map)

In honor of Thanksgiving, November's theme for the country's only recurring open mic dedicated to sci-fi, fantasy, and supernatural horror is "family tension." Writing to the theme is optional, but encouraged. There will also be an added challenge: the performer who can best fit the following line into their piece, as determined by the audience, wins a prize: "And that's when uncle Jeff chimed in."

November's show will also feature performances from special guests Michael Merriam and Ari Hoptman

Got something you want to perform or know someone who's a writer of speculative fiction? Sign up starts at 7:30 pm in the Poet's Corner of Kieran's Irish Pub. Stories, stand-up comedy, and musical pieces are all welcome, just as long as the material is within the speculative fiction genre. So come on by and take 5-7 minutes to show us a place from another world!

Tickets: $5-$10 donation at the door.
